African Handcrafted Female Chokwe Mask

A wonderful African Female Chokwe mask that originates from Angola in Africa. The traditional Angolan mask is handcrafted out of dark wood and cloth that is stretched over the forehead of the African chokwe mask and grass hair is then braided into the mask. Once set, the tribal artist then gets ready to apply his talents and paints and carved traditional patterns into the mask with the natural earth tone colors of his choice.

There are various designs of the Chokwe mask that all resemble the same design with slight variation.

These Chokwe Angola traditional masks have an original setting and atmosphere. Men and or women that wear masks are fully dressed in traditional tribal clothes depending on the ceremony that is presented that evening.

All sizes listed are approximate. The mask you purchase and receive may differ just slightly in size, look, and/or color from the mask shown in the picture because each mask is handcrafted and hand painted by individual artists.
