African Hand Carved Iron Wood Shona Shield Mask

Size: 75 cm (30")

An African Iron wood mask that originates from Zimbabwe. Iron wood is a very hard wood with a deep orange/brown color that makes for excellent carvings.

This African mask has been handcrafted in the shape of an African shield such as the Zulu shields. There are 2 long removable shafts that represent the 2 clubs on a Zulu shield. These 2 shafts have carvings of abstract African people on them.

The African mask has been crafted by a Shona tribesmen from Zimbabwe and is also known as a Shona shield mask.

Please be advised that each mask is handcrafted so there will be slight variances from one mask to the next. The mask will all be similar to the picture but not exactly the same due to the nature of handcrafted sculptures.
