African Wood Wildebeest - Attacking Lions

A large hand carved wooden African Wildebeest being attacked by 2 lions, one male and 1 female, that has been carved in Zimbabwe by Shona artists. The wood used in Iron Wood which is a very hard and heavy dark brown wood found in the Bulawayo region of Zimbabwe. This Wildebeest has the male lion attacking from the back and the female lion from under the neck of the Wildebeest.

The detail of the wood carving is very accurate with great care been taken to make sure that the proportions of the African wooden wildebeest is correct. Shona artist are known for their great ability to carve and are some of the finest carvers in the world.
