An unusual African tribal mask that has been handcrafted out of Ebony wood by a Tumbuka crafter from Malawi. The Tumbuka people are a small tribal population found mainly in the northern parts of Malawi.

The Malawi country is often known as the warm heart of Africa due to the friendliness of the people.

Malawi carvers produces various colorful arts and crafts which are handwork to a high standard. Their artwork evolves mainly around wood carving but they are also known for their Batik cloth prints.

This African tribal mask has the wide eyes open, smiling face and the tripod head that is often seen in Malawi masks.

All handcrafted African tribal masks are individually carved so there will be slight variances from one mask to the other.
