African Cameroon Fang Mask

An African Fang mask from the region of Cameroon that is crafted out of wood and set with the typical features of the Fang crafter's. The mask has an elongated face with long noise and pointed, square jaw line. The eyes of the Fang mask are very small slits common to a typical Fang mask.

The Fang tribal people are spread over a vast area along the Atlantic coast line of equatorial Africa and can be found in Cameroon equatorial Guinea and Gabon namely along the bank of the Ogowe river.

Fang masks such as this one is used in traditional ceremonies such as wedding and funerals and is used in traditional dancers when persecuting evil elements.
