An Attacking Lion killing a Zebra wall hanging

An African hand sketched picture of an attacking lion catching his prey and in this picture the African lioness has caught a Burchelle Zebra.

The Zulu artist that handcrafted this African picture has taken a piece of Masonite wooden board and burnt the front canvas so to give the artist a black surface to work with. The Zulu artist then engraves the lion and Zebra image onto the wood and removes the front layer of the burnt wood to reveal the clear light brown wood underneath.

This style of art has become unique to a small group of Zulu's. This beautiful African Lioness carving shows a female Lion with the head of a Zebra in her mouth and her one arm pinned over the Zebra so that the Zebra does not get away. The artist has used exceptional skill to hand engrave the details into the wood.
