These warthog tusks have been scrimshawed which is a crafts technique that is used to sketch onto the front side of the tusk by actually scratching the surface of the warthog tusk and then adding color. These Scrimshaw warthog tusks are free standing and either have a brass or wooden holder attached to the base to hold the warthog tusk up. All these tusks have been collected from game reserves and there has been no illegal gather of these tusks
