A large hand carved wooden African Elephant with baby, that has been carved in Zimbabwe by Shona artists. The wood used in Iron Wood which is a very hard and heavy dark brown wood found in the Bulawayo region of Zimbabwe. These Elephants are standing with trunks in the air and the mother Elephant has tusks made of bone. The baby Elephant has no tusks.

The detail of the Elephants is very accurate with great care been taken to make sure that the proportions of the African wooden Elephant is correct. Shona artist are known for their great ability to carve and are some of the finest carvers in the world.
