A beautiful handcrafted Zulu basket known as Ukhamba or Zulu beer basket and found in South Africa. The Zulu basket is bulb or tear dropped in shape and is hand woven with Ilala Palm grass with a tight fitting lid.

This Zulu basket is woven tightly and is watertight as it is used by traditional Zulu's to serve sorghum beer during traditional ceremonies.

Zulu baskets have become a traditional art that has been past down from Generation to generation. There are less Zulu women making these Zulu baskets as time goes by and these will eventually only be found in museums and art galleries.
