The Zulu people are not known for their mask making as African masks never really played a big part in the Zulu culture. The Zulu's are more known for their Zulu weapons, shields, drums, bead work, grass baskets etc... The mask has become a more modern attire to the Zulu crafter's woodworking

This Zulu mask which can be found around South Africa in many homes is a more ornamental mask than a mystical mask with powers. The modern Zulu uses his carving skill to make masks that look good in the home.

This African mask has traditional Zulu patterns on the face with an African tribal patterns carved into the entire mask and set in the wonderful earth tone colors of dark and light brown.

As the African mask is handcrafted there may be slight differences in the African mask from the picture. Although the African mask will be similar the uniqueness of African arts will mean that no two African masks will be exactly the same in regard to size,color and pattern
