An African hand sketched picture of a traditional Zulu warrior chief with shield and traditional dress.

The Zulu artist that handcrafted this African picture has taken a piece of Masonite wooden board and burnt the front canvas so to give the artist a black surface to work with. The Zulu artist then engraves the lion and Zebra image onto the wood and removes the front layer of the burnt wood to reveal the clear light brown wood underneath.

This style of art has become unique to a small group of Zulu's. This Zulu warrior picture shows a traditional Zulu chief with a Zulu shield in one hand and wearing his traditional dress. Around his neck and in his ears you has the Zulu jewelry used by Zulu people today and in the past. The artist has used exceptional skill to hand engrave the details into the wood.
