A beautiful handcrafted African grass weave Zulu basket plate. The Zulu grass plate has been woven out of natural grasses in various colors and woven with traditional Zulu patterns. These traditional woven plates have become sort after items for many homes and make for excellent African wall hanging home decor.

Zulu grass weavers take hours to make just one grass plate and the workmanship and detail that does into every basket is remarkable. The Zulu woman who weave and use this as their source of income are known around the world for their wonderful Zulu pattern designs baskets. They are among if not the best weaver in the world.

The tradition of weaving as been around for centuries and past down from generation to generation and very little has change since the beginning of the grass weaver. There are however fewer grass basket weavers in modern times as the younger generation are becoming more city dwellers.
