African handcrafted Traditional 1 m Zulu Shields

A large Zulu shield standing 1 m tall and handmade out of the hide of cattle. The Zulu shield come in a variety of natural cow leather colors. If you are looking for a particular color for this size Zulu shield please E-mail us with your color options once you have purchased this Zulu shield and we will do our best to match your choice. The Zulu shield contains the spear and the club, known in Zulu terms as the Assegai & Knob-Kerrie and center shaft which is shown in the picture.

The total length of the Zulu shield from the top to the bottom of the center shaft is 150 cm.

The center shaft which runs through the center of the Zulu shield has animal fur on the tip which is usually from an African buck such as the Springbok or Gemsbuck. Traditional Zulu shield have become sort out for collectors all around the world and there are only a few skilled traditional Zulu tribesmen making these Zulu shield today.

This picture shows a Zulu tribesmen in this traditional ware which are worn at traditional ceremonies today such as weddings, funerals and births.

As this Zulu shield contains animal hide, special permits are required to export the shield. The price of the permit has been included in the postage cost.

Because of the nature of the Zulu shield we can't get the exact color patterns as the picture but can obtain the color choice as long as it is in the natural color of the African cow. There will never be two shield that are exactly the same in pattern
