African Iron wood Zulu couple

Size: 40cm (H)

A heavy African Zulu couple hand carved out of Iron wood. The Zulu couple carving is of a young male Zulu tribesman with a pot belly and hat on head and a female Zulu woman carrying a pot on her head. The wooden Zulu couple is carved ad left in the natural color of the wood and smooth polished.

The Zulu people are one of the most well known of all the African tribes and are known for their exquisite Zulu beadwork, Zulu baskets and Zulu shields. Wood carvings have become a new form of craft work that the Zulu people have adopted and the skill is being handed down from father to some. Wood caving is dome by the men while weaving of baskets and beadwork is done by the women.

Each African figurine is an "original" work of art, individually handmade, no two are exactly alike which adds to the value of each piece. The original nature of tribal art will be reflected by variances from the African figurine as shown, each piece of a specific style is similar, but not identical.

This is a heavy 2 kg wooden couple and offer 2 options for delivery.
