African handcrafted bone necklaces that have been crafted with a large round bone pendant and smaller interlocking bone beads. This African bone necklace is from South Africa and have been crafted by Zulu woman from the Nomgoma area in KwaZulu Natal. Bone Jewelry has always been a part of African life and lifestyle, both African men and woman craft out of bone and the jewelry is adorned by both sexes.

In traditional ceremonies such as coming of age of young boys and girls bone jewelry is an important part of an outfit. The Zulu woman of South Africa make all our jewelry by hand and use this as their income.

We practice fair trade and inject funds directly back to the craftier. The Monkey Apple necklaces have been crafted from the Monkey apple fruit and set with traditional patterns.
