An African hand carved wooden Elephant. The Elephant has been carved out of Iron wood by the Shona artists of Zimbabwe. Iron wood is a very hard and heavy wood that is found mainly in the Zimbabwe town called Bulawayo. The Shona carvers that carve African animals out of iron wood are known as some of the most talented carvers in Africa if not the world. The Iron wood Elephant is carved in a standing position with trunk in the air. This is a heavy wood carved elephant and weighs in at 4kg
