The Maasai (Masai) tribesmen are one of the more well known tribes in Africa and have change very little as modern life has taken over. The Maasai (Masai) are mostly herdsmen that believe that cattle which is given to them from God is the source of wealth and most of Maasai (Masai) Mara men will spend their day watching over the cattle.
The Maasai (Masai) craftsmen have a distinct style of art that is easily recognizable and often set in bright red colors, their artwork is mainly brought about by the people around them or African animals. All Maasai (Masai) carvings will have some animal or warrior feature.
Each Ebony candle holder is an "original" work of art, individually handmade, no two are exactly alike which adds to the value of each African candle holder. The original nature of tribal art will be reflected by variances from the candle holder as shown, each piece of a specific style is similar, but not identical.
